This grand gala evening promises an exciting programme of excerpts of grand opera and vocal works in the theme of the homeland to commemorate Singapore’s 200th year of founding with a star-studded cast of local and international operatic soloists.Singapore baritone Martin Ng recently returned from successes in the role of Scarpia in Tosca and Germont in La Traviata in Taiwan and Malaysia will perform for the concert excerpts from the aforementioned operas. Teng Xiang Ting, rising local soprano and a familiar face in the Singapore operatic scene, debuted in 2019 in the Theatres of Biel and Solothurn in Switzerland.International opera singers will make their debut in this gala event: Serbian soprano Ana Petricevic sings regularly in opera houses all over Europe in roles in Maddelana (Andrea Chenier) , Leonora (Il Trovatore), Desdemona (Otello) and the title role of Turandot.Turkish mezzo soprano Asude Karayavuz, former singer of the Accademia della Scala, guests in major opera houses like the Arena and Teatro San Carlo of Naples in operas like Carmen and Rigoletto, to name a few.The evening's programme will be accompanied by the Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra led by renown conductor Tsung Yeh, and Aloysius Fong on the piano. This recital “Conversations to Flinders Station” is a collaboration within the conventional jazz, advance music improvisation, and video art spectrum. You’ll be intrigued by a balance of not only the everyday conventional jazz but also various experimental foray of sounds and visuals.Jeremy Yeo is a graduate of Box Hill Institute TAFF, Melbourne Australia (2015-2018). Advanced Improvisation became an eminent part of his Master of Music (Contemporary Practice) studies at Box Hill Institute under the guidance of Warren Burt and Ren Walters. Jeremy has been a drummer for 25 years and has worked with various pop artistes such as David Choi (USA), J.J.Lin, Kit Chan, A-Do, F.I.R., and Eric Moo. With his successful Spring World Tour in 2018, his 「大人中」concert was phenomenally successful in Taiwan, selling out consecutively for 3 nights at the Taipei Arena, where he performed to 30,000 fans, impressing everyone with his endless energy, surprising fans with his spectacular live performance.The impressive thing about Lu is that he is able to create a soulful performance with a guitar in his hands, and this is evident in the fact that he was awarded multiple musical accolades in the Golden Melody Awards for “Best New Artist”, “Best Composer” and “Best Song of the Year”. With his foray into his first television series, he was also awarded “Best Leading Actor in a Television Series” and “Best Newcomer in a Television Series” in the Golden Bell Awards for his role in “A Boy Named Flora A”.For the concert, fans can definitely be prepared to hear the many classic hits they would be familiar with, such as the song that would remind them of “A Boy Named Flora A”《明仔载》, or crowd favourite 《鱼仔》that everyone would sing along to. EAST COAST CHOIR CONCERT 2019
“Ordinary People, Extraordinary Deeds” was what motivated Grassroots Adviser to Kampong Chai Chee Mr Lee Yi Shyan, to form the East Coast Choir (ECC) in 2015, in celebration of SG50 with the strong support of PAssionArts movement. The choir is a community group made up of ordinary people united by a common love for singing. It is an inter-generational choir comprising of members from as young as 7 years old to seniors who are passionate about choral singing.Since its formation, ECC has been given many memorable opportunities to perform at various grassroots events, National Day Parade Celebrations at Marina Bay Floating Platform in celebration of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, PAssionArts Festivals, CHINGAY@Heartlands 2018, festive carolling such as singing Christmas & Chinese New Year songs at Sentosa, hospitals and eldercare homes.ECC has held 4 annual public ticketed concerts since 2015. The choir gathers weekly at Kampong Chai Chee Community Club to learn the basics of singing under the direction of Chorus Director Ms Khor Ai Ming.Although majority of the choir members have no formal music background, we are proud to bring you our fifth ticketed concert this evening.The programme for the concert will feature familiar tunes from Disney movies, favourite Xinyao (新谣) classics and a special collection of flashback featuring songs from our previous concerts.Regardless of age or musical ability - ECC welcomes everyone with commitment, dedication and passion for choral singing to be a part of this community choir!

This has been true through the ages - the most inspired and inspiring musical friendships are intrinsically tied to this connection between erhu and viola - An Inspirational Musical Friendships!” — Duan AiaiWith so many performances across the homeland, the duet begins to establish the famous of all musical affiliations with some famous composers such as Mr Enjott Schneider, President of the renowned German Composition Association, Mr Sheng Ye and Mr Sun Jian, two of the best-known composers from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. A beautiful and mesmerizing composition created for Duan Aiai, erhu and Sheng Li, viola with piano accompanist, Jiang Shan has such expressive vocal quality that appropriately captured the spirit that a great font of inspiration channelled between these three great musicians, fuelled by intimate affection, passion, and artistic intensity that they shared. Through the gentle dialogue of the two ethnically different strings instruments, one can hear the voices of human exchanging intimately and affectionately. The ONLY one-night concert will cover a range of repertoires from the original adaption of Chinese folk songs, music inspired by the Central Asia and Georgia region. The colourful music dances inspired across the silk road. This is going to be a musical dialogue that flowed from the compositional intersection through the geo-culture, landscape and language of music.
Echo of a Millennium: Singapore
A thousand years in the making, Nidaros Cathedral Men and Boys Choir from Norway brings to audiences the angelic voices of boy trebles combined with the mature sound of the men’s group. First appeared in 1030AD, this choir is uniquely Norwegian and yet is now a global voice for the classical choral repertoires. From Gregorian chant to Dvořák’s Mass in D Major performed with orchestra, this concert will let audiences leave the evening with sweet memories of the heavenly music.Norway is a country surrounded by magnificent unspoiled nature.
